Art, Activism, and Justice

This past summer, local artist and leader Omari Booker worked alongside 10 young people to create the mural that now lives right next door at the Fisk Court Apartments! After thoughtful deliberation and reflection, the group wanted to celebrate youth leadership and action in Nashville.

The Art + Activism program is taking a break this fall, but this week marks the beginning of a new program: Creating Justice. The Underground Art Studio at Oasis is partnering with Riddim N Spice to contribute to an Art Wall around the restaurant's property in North Nashville. Young creatives will work with local artist, Shadale Smith, to design and paint a mural for the Art Wall with input and participation from community residents.
