Mayor’s Youth Council

At the heart of Oasis’s mission is the belief that young people hold the keys to addressing some of our city’s most complex challenges. Perhaps nowhere is that more clearly embodied than the Mayor’s Youth Council.

Over its 15 year history, the Mayor’s Youth Council has been a go-to source for youth voice in the city, providing a direct communication link between young people and metro government.

Each year, 35 diverse high school students from across Nashville serve on the MYC. They’re tasked with providing ongoing and direct input on local government policies and practices, advocating on important issues, and fostering initiatives created for and by youth.
