Oasis College Connection

Oasis College Connection (OCC) is Nashville’s largest college access program dedicated to making college a reality for low-income, New American, and first-generation college students. Our mission is to provide comprehensive admissions and financial aid expertise to support and increase students’ college acceptance rates, retention, and successful degree completion.

We work with teens from start to finish providing assistance with college and career selection, financial aid, entrance testing, application assistance and support once enrolled in college—all free of charge.

Since 2010, OCC has helped more than 15,500 students across Metro Nashville prepare for post-secondary success.

In-School College Access
Our mentors work in 13 MNPS high schools and 4 MNPS middle schools. Last year, we reached over 2,000 students through one-on-one college counseling and classroom workshops.

Out-of-School Opportunities
After school, our mentors are stationed at three public library branches to work with youth and their families. We also offer year-round ACT Prep courses and various workshops to help families navigate the college-going process.

Postsecondary Success
Getting into college is just one part of the equation. Our Resource Centers at three Nashville State Community College campuses provide support to help students stay in college. At the Resource Centers, students find a relaxing environment to do homework, receive tutoring, and build a network of support.
