Have a large group that wants to help?
Snack Packs Drives provide easily transportable food packs for young people experiencing homelessness that we meet during street canvassing or who visit our Outreach Center. We may also provide snack packs to youth in our other programs, when available and appropriate. You may organize your own drive off-site and assemble snack packs at your convenience. Depending on availability and the age/size of the group, we may be able to welcome you at Oasis Center to assemble bags and get a brief tour of the agency. Volunteers provide all necessary snack pack materials.
Food Packs On days we don’t have a volunteer cooking meals, we like to be able to provide our young people a food pack with lunch and food to take with them after they leave us. Lunches can include items such as sandwiches, fruit, chips, protein bars, drinks, desserts, and any other snack items. They can be dropped off at Oasis between 9 am – 3 pm on Monday or Wednesday. Please contact Felisha Baquera, if you need an alternate time.
Hot Lunches We serve lunch most days at the Outreach Center, and we’d like to offer a few hot, homemade meals! We need volunteers to remotely prepare hot lunch to serve young people experiencing homelessness on Mondays and Friday to be delivered between 9:15 – 11 a.m. One volunteer can drop off the food, and we can reheat it, if it’s no longer hot. Volunteers in this role do not serve lunch, but groups can work together to prepare remotely. Lunches can be anything you desire; casseroles, lasagna, taco bake, and warmed up meat and cheese sliders have been big hits. Lunch should serve approximately 20 people. We can divide portions after you deliver or you can do that before you deliver. You can sign-up for an available day on the schedule at right!
Thank you for your interest in being part of the Oasis community!
