Helping Youth Raise Their Voices
“When young people feel authentically engaged and heard... it changes their perspective.”
At the Oasis Center, we believe there’s more to youth.
That’s why many of our programs involve encouraging Nashville’s youth to call on their unique perspectives and make their voices heard. In addition to raising their voices in their personal lives, we ensure youth have the opportunity to bring their needs to Nashville decision makers so they can influence their communities.
Jacob Aparicio, Building Bridges & WeCity Program Coordinator at Oasis, puts it this way: “No matter where and how we serve young people, we’re always trying to listen their needs, wants, and ambitions. We try to put them in positions where they feel empowered to take ownership of their own lives.”
