Mayor's Youth Summit Save the Date

September 23, 2020 On Thursday October 15th from 1pm-3pm the Mayor’s Youth Council will be hosting our annual and first ever virtual Mayor’s Youth Summit (MYS). Each year the MYC brings together high school aged students from public and private schools across Nashville/Davidson County to discuss some of Nashville’s most pressing issues. Current Mayor’s Youth Council members will facilitate discussions with their peers around their experiences of the following: Mental Health; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (Racism, Xenophobia and LGBTQ Issues); Homelessness & Housing; Education; Public Health (COVID-19); Environmental Change; and Knowing Your Rights (Policing, Police Brutality & Police Engagement)

This youth-inspired and youth-led event will end with attendees offering their solutions to the above issues to Mayor John Cooper, metro council members and a host of other community leaders. Our youth have the power to change the fabric of our city and we want your students to join us! Be on the look out next Wednesday, Sept. 30th, for the MYS registration!
